Out-of-Network Benefits & Fees

Therapy is an investment in your healing, your nervous system, and your relationship with yourself.

You Matter Holistic Healing is an out-of-network therapy practice. This means I do not bill insurance companies directly, and payment is due at the time of your session.

If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, however, you may be eligible to receive reimbursement for a portion of the cost of therapy.

You have options here.

There are a few ways to manage the cost of out-of-network therapy.

Private Pay

Pay for therapy without using insurance.

Submit a Superbill Yourself

Receive a detailed receipt to submit to your insurance company for possible reimbursement..

Use Mentaya

Check your out-of-network benefits for free, with the option to have Mentaya submit claims for you.

Choose the option that works best for you.

Check Your Benefits

Use the free tool below to get an estimate of your out-of-network benefits and what your insurance plan may reimburse for therapy.

Please note that this tool is meant to help you better understand your potential benefits. It does not guarantee reimbursement or coverage, and any reimbursement amount depends on your specific insurance plan.

Submitting Claims Yourself

If you have out-of-network benefits and prefer to submit claims yourself, I can provide a superbill, a detailed receipt that includes the information your insurance company typically needs to process a claim.

Before beginning therapy, you may want to contact your insurance company and ask about your specific out-of-network mental health benefits.

Questions you may want to ask:

- Does my plan include out-of-network mental health benefits?

- Do I have an out-of-network deductible? If so, how much have I met?

- What percentage or amount will I be reimbursed after meeting my deductible?

- Do I need a referral or prior authorization?

- How do I submit a superbill for reimbursement?

Helpful Billing Codes

Your insurance company may ask which services or billing codes are used. Common codes in my practice include:

90791 | Initial diagnostic assessment

90834 | 45-minute individual therapy session

90837 | 60-minute individual therapy session

90847 | Couples/family therapy with the client present

Reimbursement varies by insurance plan, so your insurance company can give you the most accurate information about how your specific benefits apply.

Prefer Help With Claims?

If you have out-of-network benefits but would rather not manage claim submission yourself, you can choose to use Mentaya’s claim-submission service.

Mentaya submits claims to your insurance company and handles insurance follow-up on your behalf. Their fee is 5% per claim, and using this service is completely optional.

You can still choose to receive superbills and submit claims yourself at no additional cost.

Therapy Fees

Initial 60-minute Intake Session: $250

45-minute therapy session: $185

60-minute therapy session: $250

Payment is due at the time of service. HSA and FSA cards are also accepted. Limited sliding scale availability.

If you choose to use out-of-network benefits, reimbursement is determine by your insurance company.
